Splash for Our Kids’ Safety (S.O.S.) is an annual event that helps reinforce water safety throughout the community. It is open to the community. However, no food/beverages may be brought in to the Chris Lyle Aquatic Center. Attendees may learn cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and enjoy several activities, including a Dive-In Movie – The Little Rascals – that begins at sunset.

May's Kids Night Out is a Pajama Night - children may wear their pajamas and bring a sleeping bag and enjoy a movie, pizza, popcorn, dessert, and refreshments!

Parks and Recreation Department personnel will be restoring the St. Cloud lakefront’s playground surface May 21. The playground area will be closed to the general public for a minimum of six hours. During this time, the affected area will be taped off. At approximately 3 p.m., the playground area will reopen once the caution tape is removed.

Lifeguard classes are scheduled for May 26-27 and June 2-3, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Applicants must pass a swim test prior to the start of the class. Swim test dates are: May 15 and 17, 6:30 p.m., and May 19 at 1 p.m. Only one swim test must be attended/passed.

Session 7 sign-ups will take place Saturday, May 19, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., and Monday, May 21, 6:30-8:30 p.m., at the Civic Center. Thirty-minute classes: $35 for residents/$45 for non-residents and 60-minute classes: $45 for residents/$55 for non-residents. The two-week swim lessons will run from May 29-June 8, 9-11 a.m. and 6-7 p.m., at the Chris Lyle Aquatic Center.
