SB 1752 Extension Information

Legislation was again passed this year (SB 1752) that provides a 2-year extension on local government issued development orders or building permits for such orders/permits with an expiration date of September 1, 2008 through January 1, 2012. The holder of a valid permit must write to the City no later than December 31, 2010 stating they are eligible for the 2-year extension and explain what the extension is being used (which order/permit) for and provide an anticipated timeframe for acting on the order/permit. For permit holders granted a 2-year extension last year, an additional 2-year extension on the same permit may also be requested. Permits extended are governed by the rules in effect at the time the permit was issued unless such rule is a threat to public health, safety, and welfare. Additional exemptions/provisions are provided in the legislation. Please contact the Planning Department (407) 957-7203 for additional information.
