Smoke Alarms

Free Smoke Alarm Program

The City of St. Cloud Fire Rescue Department  has a FREE SMOKE ALARM program.  We provide smoke alarms free of charge to one- and two-family dwellings that do not currently have a working alarm. Smoke alarms provide an early warning to many fires, giving the occupants time to leave the home safely. This program is supported by the City of St. Cloud and a FEMA Assistance to Firefighters Grant obtained by the St. Cloud Fire Rescue Department.

In an effort to make sure that our citizens are protected in the event of a fire, we will provide you with a free smoke alarm. The alarms are powered by long-life lithium batteries, which will last up to 10 years, eliminating the need to change batteries yearly. The alarms are given to our residents of St. Cloud living within the city limits.  There is no cost or obligation involved. To obtain your free smoke alarm, you must contact the St. Cloud Fire Marshal’s office at 407-957-8484 during normal business hours Monday through Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm or stop in to Fire Station 31 located at 900 Minnesota Ave. so we can set up a date and time for our fire department personnel to come and install the alarm in your home.
