Online applications for open positions are accepted 24/7 until the closing date and time for the position.  You may complete an online application on-site for open positions during the hours of 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday at City Hall, Human Resources Department located at:

To be considered for employment, the application must be completed in its entirety, signed in the certification section, and the position for which you are applying - specified.  Resumes alone are not accepted. It is the applicant’s responsibility (both City employees and outside applicants) to provide all of the necessary information to ensure that minimum qualifications are met.        


Applications become inactive 30 calendar days from the closing date of the position announcement, or when position has been filled.

All information submitted is subject to verification.

Positions in “Open until Filled” status may be closed at any time without prior notice.

Applications are screened by the Human Resources department.  Applicants that meet minimum qualifications will be forwarded to the hiring department for review and consideration for interviews. The hiring department will only contact applicants he/she chooses for an interview. If you are not selected for an interview, you will not be notified.

After the interview, if you are selected for the position the Human Resources Department will notify you by phone.  At this time, you will be asked to provide original required documents, diplomas, degrees, certifications and licenses. Job offers are contingent upon passing the reference check, background check and physical and drug test.

If special disability accommodations are required, notify the City’s Human Resources Department in advance.

In accordance with the provisions of ADA, this document may be requested in an alternative format.

Clerical Testing

Clerical testing is given only when clerical positions are available. Testing is done after the interview.

Pre-Employment Testing / Background Check

Applicants selected for employment will be required to successfully pass a criminal and prior employment background check. Applicants must also pass a physical examination which includes a drug screening.

Final candidates for police, fire, and communication operator positions will be subject to further testing and screening.
