Firefighters; qualifications for employment is: 
"Be a nonuser of tobacco or tobacco products
for at least one year immediately preceding application,
as evidenced by the sworn affidavit of the applicant."

 

  

Fire Recruiting

 

Applications for the Fire Department are accepted at all times utilizing the City’s regular application.

 

Minimum Requirements:

 

Each applicant, must, at the time of application:

 

·    Have a High School Diploma or completion of equivalent.

·    Have a State of Florida Class “E” Drivers’ License, or Commercial Drivers’ License.

·    Have a current State of Florida Firefighter Standards Certification.

·    Have a current a State of Florida Emergency Medical Technician Certificate.

·    Must have completed an Emergency Vehicle Operators Course (EVOC).
