The
Traffic Control Division is responsible for the continued implementation of
progressive public safety through the use of traffic signalization, signage,
and pavement markings. Traffic Control maintains traffic control
signage and traffic control lighting within the City of St. Cloud
city limits. All new sign posts are installed with the latest state of
the art “break-away” posts to minimize vehicular damage and possible injury.

Recently,
the Traffic Control Division installed new light emitting diode (LED) bulbs
in all traffic signals in order to reduce energy consumption, bulb
maintenance and improved motorist visibility. Energy costs have been
cut in half since the LED bulbs were installed.
