SPECIAL OPERATIONS DIVISION
Captain Pierson joined the department in 1988 as a patrol officer. He served several years in the investigative division working as a detective and a drug investigator. He was later promoted to Sergeant and returned to the Patrol Division. In 2003 he was promoted to his current position as Captain.

 The Special Operations Division is overseen by a Captain. The Special Operations Division includes the Budget, Training Unit, Background Investigator/
Recruiting,
Community Outreach Unit/ Volunteer Program, Professional Standards, and the Tactical Entry Team. Furthermore, an Administrative Secretary serves as the Purchasing Agent for the magnitude of equipment necessary to keep the St. Cloud Police Department functioning properly.
