ST. CLOUD POLICE DEPARTMENT
INVESTIGATIONS DIVISION
The Investigations Division is overseen by a Captain and includes the Criminal Investigations Unit, the Street Crimes Unit, K-9 Unit, Training, OCIB and the SCIRS-SS Task Force.

Captain Bret Dunn started his career with the department in 1989 as a communications operator while he attended the police academy. After graduation, he joined the Patrol Division and later worked in the Investigations Division. Captain Dunn also served as Training Sergeant. He was promoted to Captain in 2003.

The Investigations Division is comprised of several different fact-finding and analytical units. The Criminal Investigations Unit investigates criminal cases and missing person reports not cleared by the Patrol division. The Street Crimes Unit targets problem areas in an undercover capacity and utilizes the special training of the K-9 unit. OCIB is a multi-jurisdictional task force. The SCIRS-SS Task Force is a multi-agency investigational unit based at the St. Cloud Police Department. All of these units work in tandem with one another to effectively investigate and deter crime.
