Great Outdoors Day

City of St. Cloud hosts 5th Annual Great Outdoors Day
on November 2, 2019 at the St. Cloud Lakefront from 10am to 3pm.

The Great Outdoors Day is an annual event in Osceola County to encourage healthy and active outdoor fun for individuals and families.  The City of St. Cloud Lakefront Park will be the location for this highly attended event where interactive and educational experiences will be offered for children, families and individuals.  The goal of the Great Outdoors Day is multifaceted and includes raising awareness of natural resources, introduce local nature inspired attractions and to ultimately inspire participants to be responsible stewards of the environment by making environmentally conscious decisions.  Fundamentally, this event aims at teaching participants that their actions today can help preserve the environment for generations to come.  It also aims to motivate individuals to get outside and enjoy the work around them, whether it’s simply by taking a walk and enjoying the plethora nature has to offer, exercising outdoors, taking part in local nature conservation efforts or volunteering in the many community agencies.

This event, now in its 5th year, will include a variety of activities for all ages including a youth fishing derby, animal encounters, casting demonstrations, environmental games, prizes and much more.  Joining us on November 2, 2019 at the Great Outdoors Day will be Osceola County Sheriff’s Department, Florida Native Plant Society, City of St. Cloud Public Services, Reedy Creek Improvement District, Haines City Public Works, FL Department of Environmental Protection, Kissimmee Valley Audubon Society, Suntree Technologies, City of Kissimmee, Osceola County Solid Waste, Florida Wildlife Conservation, Florida Trails Association, University of Florida Extension Services, Peghorn Nature Park, OUC the Reliable One, Toho Water, Fresh From Florida, and Wild Florida.
